The ExAREALO 2 range completes the AREALO 2 family and has been specifically developed for demanding applications in hazardous areas classified as Zone 2/22, where explosive gases or combustible dust may be present.

With a choice of light distributions and optics, ExAREALO 2 can be precisely tailored to a wide variety of applications, including chemical and petrochemical plants, tank farms, loading stations and industrial facilities. Different colour temperatures further enable application-specific lighting solutions.

The proven VARIO range has been expanded: VARIO SET enables the luminous flux of installed luminaires to be adjusted easily at any time via the existing wall switch – without opening the luminaire, installing additional control wiring or using an app.

Activation is carried out via a defined switching sequence, after which one of five preset luminous flux levels can be selected. Where multiple luminaires are connected to the same switch, they can all be adjusted simultaneously to the same light output.

Benefits of VARIO SET:

✅ No need to open the luminaire – ideal for hard-to-reach luminaires, tubular light fittings and FC versions
✅ Luminous flux can be adjusted even after installation – allowing for flexible adaptation to changes in usage
✅ No app or additional accessories required – simple operation via the switch  

Unlike VARIO, where the luminous flux is adjusted via DIP switches inside the luminaire, VARIO SET uses SetByMains for luminous flux adjustment. Luminaires with VARIO SET are identified by the VARST designation in the type code.

Thanks to the portfolio expansion with PROXIMA HL, the range can now also be used in areas with very high humidity levels and predominantly short operating periods.
The specially developed version features corrosion-protected components, making it the ideal solution for demanding environments where conventional dust-/waterproof light fittings quickly reach their limits.
